Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's Liberal party won the country's election but fell short of securing a majority government. Since becoming prime minister in March 2025, Carney has rallied against U.S. tariffs on Canada and President Trump's suggestion of Canada becoming the 51st U.S. state.
