Maine Democrats have chosen Troy Jackson, a progressive former State Senate president, to replace Graham Platner as their Senate candidate. Jackson was selected at a hastily organized state party convention, which came together after Platner, who faced a rape accusation he denies, dropped out of the race.
Troy Jackson won his party's nomination by commandeering the progressive movement that fueled Graham Platner's rise. He will face off against GOP Sen. Susan Collins in November.
