A 43-year-old woman was injured overnight after a pickup truck caused a collision when making an illegal turn on Lower Wacker Drive, Chicago police said. Shortly after 2 a.m., a man in a black pickup truck made an illegal turn in the 100 block of South Lower Wacker Drive and caused a collision with a white Jeep. A woman driving the Jeep suffered bruising to her body, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was listed in fair condition, police said. The driver of the pickup truck was injured but he was written a citation, police said.

A woman was pronounced dead after she was struck by a vehicle when running into the street Monday night on the South Side in the Parkview neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 11:30 p.m., a 48-year-old man driving a white SUV was headed west in the 3800 block of West Columbus Avenue when he struck an unidentified woman who ran into the street, police said. The woman suffered trauma to the body, and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was later pronounced dead, police said.
