Two National Guard members from West Virginia remain in critical condition when a gunman opened fire on them in an apparent "targeted shooting" near the White House.
Officials are conducting a "coast-to-coast" investigation into the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., the FBI head said. The suspect had worked with the CIA in Afghanistan.
The suspect had been recruited to Unit 03 of the Kandahar Strike Force, a former military commander told the BBC, coming to the US after the withdrawal.
