New Indie One of the best films of 2018 you may well have missed is Yen Tan's powerful period drama 1985 (Wolfe), starring Cory Michael Smith (Gotham) as a young gay man who returns to Texas from New York City to spend Christmas with his parents (played with subtle poignancy by Virginia Madsen and Michael Chiklis).
